NONRESIDENTS

Investments in government bonds
 

 

Bonds and makam: In October, nonresidents made net investments of about $150 million in government bonds. Preliminary figures for November indicate net investment of about $350 million in government bonds. Between May 2013 and September 2013, nonresidents realized about $2.8 billion in government bonds.

 

 
Investments in Israeli shares: In October, nonresidents made net investments of approximately $60 million in shares on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE).  Since the beginning of the year, nonresidents have made net investments of approximately $1.3 billion in shares in Israel. At the same time, nonresidents invested about $230 million in Israeli shares traded abroad, primarily in one company in the finance industry.
 
Preliminary figures for November indicate net investments of about $25 million in shares of Israeli companies traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
 

Nonresidents' direct investment in Israel
: In October, nonresidents' net direct investment in Israel totaled about $350 million, with investments spread among the various industries.
 
 


RESIDENTS

Sales by institutional investors in foreign shares
 
 

Shares
: In October, the business sector and households invested an average of about $320 million, net, in shares traded abroad. In contrast, institutional investors realized $90 million, net.
 

Bonds
: In October, Israeli residents made net investments of about $290 million in bonds traded abroad.  Of that, the business sector made net investments of about $180 million. Institutional investors and households made net investments of a combined $110 million.
 
 

Direct investments abroad
: In October, residents realized about $10 million, net, in direct investments abroad.
