An international standard (ISO 13616) for identifying bank accounts. Use of the IBAN enables the automatic processing of transactions (STP), ensures the correctness of data, and contributes to standardization.
The number is comprised of a strong of characters that indicate the bank, branch, and account number, as well as a country code and two control numbers.
