WELL-BEING INDICES AROUND THE WORLD AND IN ISRAEL

 

 
 

• Various countries, including Israel, have started a process of developing well-being indices that relate to fields such as environmental quality, the level of education, health and community attachment.
  
  
• According to various well-being indices, the level of well-being in Israel has increased steadily during the first decade of the third millennium, but the improvement in well-being is smaller than the growth in GDP per capita during the same period.
  
  
• Israel's ranking among the developed countries according to the well-being indices that have been developed thus far is similar to its ranking according to GDP per capita.
