  • In the third quarter of 2022, the balance of the public’s financial assets portfolio declined by approximately NIS 11 billion (0.23 percent), to about NIS 4.82 trillion, further to the decline in the previous quarter.
  • The decline in the portfolio value in the third quarter was mainly due to declines in the balance of tradable government bonds (10 percent) and in the balance of investments abroad (3 percent), against the background of price declines on bond indices in Israel and declines in equity indices abroad.
  • The balance of the asset portfolio managed by institutional investors declined in the third quarter by approximately NIS 23 billion (1 percent), to about NIS 2.25 trillion at the end of the quarter.
  • Institutional investors’ rate of exposure to foreign assets declined by about 1.1 percentage points during the quarter, to about 36 percent, while their exposure to foreign currency declined by about 0.7 percentage points, to about 14.5 percent.
  • The value of the portfolio managed by mutual funds in Israel increased by about NIS 4 billion (1.1 percent) in the third quarter, to about NIS 362 billion. There were net new investment mainly in shekel money market funds.
