As published by the Bank of Israel on July 28, 2016, the Monetary Committee examined the frequency of making decisions on the interest rate in Israel. After several discussions that were held on the issue, the Committee decided to switch during the course of 2017 from the current frequency of 12 decisions yearly to a frequency of 8 decisions yearly.

The considerations that arose in the Committee’s discussions, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the decision, are detailed extensively in the summary of the Committee’s discussions, which is being published together with this notice.

In the coming weeks, the Bank of Israel will publicize the precise date on which the change will be implemented, and will publish the schedule of interest rate decision dates for 2017.
