The Governor of the Bank of Israel, Dr. Karnit Flug, has appointed a search committee for candidates for the position of Supervisor of Banks, after Mr. David Zaken announced his intention to end his term of office on June 30, 2015, after four and a half years in office.
The committee will be headed by the Director of the Research Department at the Bank of Israel, Prof. Nathan Sussman, and the other members are Ms. Tida Shamir, Adv., General Counsel of the Bank of Israel, Ms. Esther Dominicini, Director General of the Government Medical Centers Authority, and Mr. Amnon Neubach, Chairman of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Board of Directors.
The Search Committee will publish information regarding the method of submitting candidacy applications for the position, will interview candidates it feels are appropriate, and will recommend a small number of candidates to the Governor. The Search Committee and the Governor will also be able to approach candidates who did not submit applications to the committee on their own.
The Governor thanked the members of the committee for their willingness to assist in the important process of choosing the Supervisor of Banks.
