Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron today announced his decision to appoint Ms. Nurit Felter Eitan to the position of the Bank of Israel’s Head of the Communications, Public Information, and Community Relations Division. The Governor made the decision after interviewing a small number of candidates that were proposed for his examination by the search committee led by the Deputy Governor. Ms. Palter Eitan will take up the position on October 15, 2020.  

 Ms. Nurit Palter Eitan has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in the field of strategy and communications.  In her most recent position, she served as Head of the Strategy and Policy Control Branch at the Electricity Authority.  In that position, she led the Authority’s internal and external communications, and was responsible for international relations, government relations, and corporate responsibility at the Authority.  Ms. Palter Eitan won an award for Excellent Government Staff Management in 2019 for advancing the formulation of the Electricity Authority’s vision, values, and branding.  She also won the Public Service Commission Award for 2017 for streamlining and reducing regulation in leading a transparency reform and making information on the electricity economy more accessible.  Prior to that position, she served for 15 years as an economic and political correspondent at a number of media outlets.

 Ms. Felter Eitan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  In addition, she is a graduate of the Wexner Foundation’s senior leadership program for senior civil servants at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and of the Maoz Fellowship program.

.  She is married and has three children.
