•  Against the background of the Ministry of Health’s guidelines on the reduction of activity and the increased severity of limitations on movement in the public space, as of April 1, 2020 there will be a reduction in in-person services at banking system branches, and the share of branches that are to be open for customers will be reduced from 25 percent to 15 percent of the banking corporation’s total number of branches.
  • In-person customer services shall be concentrated in designated branches spread throughout the country, in which only cash withdrawal and deposit services and check withdrawal and deposit services will be provided. The provision of other services is subject to advance coordination and availability of the service at the branch, or via digital means and phone call centers.
  • This step will allow continuity in the provision of banking services to the public, while protecting the public’s health.
  • The Banking Supervision Department urges the public to carry out all the banking services via direct channels:phone, ATMs, banking application, and the bank’s website.

Due to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines on the reduction of activity and increased severity of limitations on movement in the public space, and out of a desire to allow continuity in the provision of banking services to the public, while protecting the public’s health, following are the Banking Supervision Department’s guidelines.

1.  The share of branches that are to be open for customers shall be not less than 15 percent of the banking corporation’s total number of branches.

2.  Those branches shall provide only cash withdrawal and deposit services and check withdrawal and deposit services. The provision of other services is subject to advance coordination and the availability of the service at the branch and at the call centers and via digital means.

3.  Banking corporations are to continue working to encourage customers to switch to receiving services via digital and phone channels.

4.  Ban king corporations are to accelerate the processes required to enable all customers to use ATMs, and to execute transactions remotely via payment card.

5.   The Supervisor of Banks may establish other directives regarding the opening of branches for in-person services on certain days and regarding the services that will be provided at those branches.
