Dr. Karnit Flug today notified Minister of Finance Yair Lapid and Chairperson of the Committee to Examine Policy with Respect to Royalties from Natural Resource Prof. Eytan Sheshinski that in light of her appointment as Governor of the Bank of Israel she is resigning her membership on the Committee (“Sheshisnki Committee II”). Dr. Flug explained that the role of Governor demands most of her time and attention, and therefore she will not be able to continue as a member of the Committee.
Dr. Flug noted that Dr. Adi Brender, Head of the Macroeconomics and Policy Division in the Bank of Israel Research Department, will continue to represent the Bank of Israel on the Committee, and to contribute to the professional aspects required for its success.
