Pursuant to the notification by the Governor of the Bank of Israel and the Supervisor of Banks to the entrepreneurs, Mr. Marius Nacht and Prof. Amnon Shashua, of the Governor’s readiness to grant them a permit for control of a bank that they own and a bank license to the new digital bank, the Bank of Israel is today publicizing the new bank’s identification code.

In Israel, financial system participants are identified by a unique, two-digit, identification code for each entity (known today as a “bank code”). In order for the new bank to operate in the various payment systems and to provide account numbers to its customers, the new bank has to be identified in all the relevant systems in the market.

The bank code allocated to the new digital bank is 18.
