Reviews by the Onsite Examination Division

Reviews of examinations carried out in the banking system on various issues

As part of its ongoing activities, the Banking Supervision Department carries out examinations across a range of banking issues within the banking system. Most of these examinations are carried out by the Onsite Examination Division. The scope and depth of each examination vary according to the complexity and nature of the issue being examined. The objective is to identify and assess the inherent risks in the issue, ensure compliance with laws and directives, evaluate the effectiveness of management, control, and corporate governance frameworks, and address any deficiencies or weaknesses.

Additionally, as risk experts in various domains, the Division's units provide ongoing professional support, identify and address emerging risks and trends at both the individual corporation and system-wide levels, and contribute to assessing the financial stability of the banking corporations. The Onsite Examination Division consists of five examination units, each responsible for different types of risks, and the Financial Reporting Unit.

The reviews attached below provide summaries of some of the surveys conducted, their main findings, and the steps taken as a result.
