| The annual international RTGS operators workshop of CLS member central banks was held this year in Jerusalem and concluded on Thursday. CLS Bank is an international bank established to reduce settlement risks in foreign exchange transactions. Representatives of RTGS systems from 14 central banks and from the CLS itself attended the workshop, which is held in a different country each year. The goal of the workshop was to receive the latest updates from CLS and from the central banks on various issues, and to discuss topics related to CLS operation vis-?-vis the central banks. |
| The Governor and Bank of Israel management welcomed the workshop participants and thanked them for accepting the Bank of Israel's invitation to hold the annual workshop in Jerusalem. They noted the importance of Israel's currency joining CLS settlement in May 2008, particularly in light of the global crisis which erupted in September 2008. |
