Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron delivered remarks at a conference on the banking system and the State budget at the Western Galilee Academic College.

In his lecture, the Governor discussed developments in the global and Israeli economies, and focused on the topics of inflation and the monetary policy being conducted by the Bank of Israel, the labor market and the high-tech sector, developments in the financial markets, long-term challenges in the economy with an emphasis on labor productivity, and moderating the price levels in Israel.  At the end of this lecture, the Governor discussed the legislation of a securitization law, and emphasized the importance of advancing the law in order to make the capital market more sophisticated and deepen competition in other areas of the financial system.

Following the lecture, the Governor devoted the rest of the day to further meetings in the north of the country with representatives of the business sector, local authorities, and the Druze community.
