Governor of the Bank of Israel Prof. Amir Yaron has returned to Israel from Amsterdam after representing the State and addressing the annual governors’ meeting of the group of countries to which Israel belongs. This was within the framework of Israel’s membership in the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. 

 

The title of the meeting was “Macroeconomic Challenges in a World with Geopolitical Tensions, High Inflation and Rising Inequalities”. In addition, there were discussions on the macroeconomic developments in various economies, inflation challenges, monetary policy, and more.

 

Within the framework of the meeting, the Governor led a panel that dealt with the energy crisis and the sharp rise in inflation worldwide. In addition, during the course of the conference, the Governor participated in a dialogue with policy makers, headed by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, on responding to the numerous challenges in a world of shocks.
