Israel’s foreign exchange reserves at the end of March 2014 stood at $85,570 million, an increase of $1,594 million from their level at the end of February.
The increase was the result of:
- Foreign currency purchases by the Bank of Israel totaling $895 million, of which $295 million were purchased as part of the purchase program intended to offset the effects of natural gas production on the exchange rate.

- A revaluation that increased the reserves by about $120 million.

- Government transfers from abroad of about $476 million.

- Private sector transfers totaling about $103 million.
