BNP Paribas Bank was today granted a license by the Bank of Israel to open a branch in Israel
 
BNP Paribas Bank today received from the Governor of the Bank of Israel a foreign bank license and permit to open a branch in Israel, thus joining Citibank and HSBC which already have branches operating in the country.
BNP Paribas Bank is based in France, and carries out diverse global activity in banking and the capital market. The Bank has branches in 85 countries throughout the world, and employs some 10,000 staff.
BNP Paribas Bank has had a representative office operating in Israel for about 9 years, headed by Mr. Charles Reisman, who is also President of the Association of Foreign Banks in Israel.
The Governor today met with Mr. Jean-Jacques Santini, the member of the group's management responsible for the Bank's international activity, and with Mr. Reisman, and handed them the permit.
